We at Mechanical Simulation are pleased to present BikeSim 3.0, a major upgrade to the BikeSim software you are now using. This update is strongly recommended for all BikeSim users and is available for download for users in maintenance here.

We have worked in the past year to provide major improvements in the vehicle model, GUI and database capabilities. In addition to extending our support for advanced users, BikeSim 3 is also simpler for casual users who do not have time to learn all the details involved in vehicle simulation.

As BikeSim usage has increased globally, engineers push the limits for analyzing complex procedures and scenarios. Here are some of the major enhancements in the simulation capability of BikeSim 3:

• full nonlinear aerodynamics,
• 20 range sensors and 99 traffic objects (for ITS and pre-crash safety applications),
• user-defined coordinate systems (to work with company design data),
• more detail in the 3D road geometry,
• support for both conventional and unconventional suspensions (front and rear),
• COSIN FTire model interface, and
• easier LINKing to animation shapes.

Some essential new features that benefit all BikeSim users include:

• unlimited Undo in the database,
• automatic navigation between multiple BikeSim databases,
• consolidated export files that include animation shapes and other support files (useful for both transferring and archiving data),
• encrypted data files that can be transferred between partner companies, and
• global search function for all installed BikeSim documentation (1000+ pages).
